Object of the Activity

During the enormous Novarupta eruption, a caldera formed on Katmai mountain. In this activity you will build a model of a caldera to get a better idea of how a cladera is formed.

Steps to Follow:

  1. Your teacher will put you into groups and give you the directions to making the caldera.
  2. Share your models when finished.
  3. How does your model illustrate the caldera formed during the Novarupta eruption.
