As you watch the first hour of the field trip, list the geologic events that occurred between the sea floor spreading 300 million years ago and the deposition of the copper ore. Events could include the formation of the island arc in the Pacific Ocean and the formation of the Aleutian Mountain Range

Work with your teacher to form a master list of the events and, then, translate them to the rock cycle.

Use the rock cycle flow chart of geologic events to create an inventive biography of a chunk of volcanic rock found in the Valley of 10,000 Smokes.
