Curriculum
The following curriculum can be used in combination or separately from the fifteen Journeys to Wilderness Canyons Activities. Each curriculum for Petra, Jordan, Three Gorges, China and Valles Marineris, Mars, consists of introduction/description, learning objectives, discussion questions, vocabulary, bibliography, and related links. Also, for teachers and students convenience, we have provided a complete canyons related links summary page.

Middle School USA Level Lesson Plans and Activities
The Journeys to Wilderness Canyons Electronic Field Trip consists of four segments that focus on the themes of wilderness, canyon geology, ecology, dams, sound, and the human impact and influences on a wilderness area. This would related to subject areas of earth sciences, physical sciences, environmental studies, and social studies.
 
All of the K-12 outreach education units are linked to Colorado Content Standards, the National Science Teachers Association and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards.
